Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies...

I'm slowly learning from experience that it really is cheaper to make things from scratch. My go to recipe for Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies (yum!) is on the back of the bag of Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Morsels.  It's quick and easy, yummy and delicious!!!

Ingredients:  2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar, 3/4 cup packed brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 large eggs
1 3/4 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, 1 cup chopped nuts (Go here to see why I didn't add those, bummer!)

What I did (i.e. my directions)
Preheated oven to 375 degrees F.

Combined flour, baking soda and salt (small bowl).

Beat softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract until creamy (large bowl). 
Eggs were then added one at a time, beating well after each addition.  Followed by the addition of the flour mixture.

The morsels were added (sans nuts, *sigh*).

 ...and viola!  I always place the mixture in the refrigerator for ~30 minutes to firm up a bit, but that's just me.

I then used a cookie scooper and placed the dough on a baking sheet
lined with parchment paper, then baked for 10 minutes.

 I portioned out several servings of cookies (making exactly 55 cookies, including the ones I baked)
to freeze while I waited for the cookies to bake!  This batch will last us ~3 weeks.  Can't beat that!!! 

It may just be the kid in me but I love a Chocolate Chip Cookie with a cold glass of milk
...absolute perfection!

All of a sudden, "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" :), (I'm cheesy, I know)!!!
