Last year my mission was simply to "Be Happy". It was a great approach to the year.
When I look back at the year as a whole it was a good one, and it ended on a good note. However, the year wasn't without its challenges and along the way I realized firsthand that happiness is fleeting.
This year I want to focus on finding joy. This time I know my mission won't be easy, but I'm really looking forward to enjoying this next year of my life as I approach age thirty in June. For quite some time I've had the feeling that age thirty would be one of the best years of my life and that my thirties would be one of the best decades of my life, so seeking out joy seems appropriate.
I'm content with life at the moment yet I'm looking forward to the growth ahead, the work required to reach my goals, and the goals we have set as a family this year. I'm also looking forward to taking more trips this year, spending more time with extended family and close friends, and doing some things I've always wanted to do.
I have great expectations for the year ahead.
I hope you do too.
This is our year!
"Count it all joy..."
