Year by Year

I’ll be 30 in June. Wow!

Originally, this page was setup to house my 30 before 30 post, then the year of age 30 was upon me  (this year!) and I noticed that I had accomplished maybe ten. So I’ve revamped this page to house a few year by year goals.  These are things that I’d like to achieve each year.  Most will change year by year but a few may always be on the list (just waiting to be checked off).
Here’s to accountability.
  1. Read the bible daily.
  2. Read at least one book/month.
  3. Read at least one book/year with the hubs.
  4. Serve in our church.
  5. Travel.
  6. Work out three days/week, consistently.
  7. Reduce sugar intake.
  8. Run a marathon.
  9. Do something eventful for my 30th birthday.
  10. Paint another room in our house.
  11. Start either a kitchen or bathroom remodel.
  12. Reduce credit card debt.
  13. Increase emergency fund.
  14. Increase photography skills.
  15. Obtain another certification; Certified Quality Engineer.
  16. Blog consistently and strive to understand, SEO, marketing, etc. (solicit help).
  17. Service fireplace for use next winter (and for a romantic dinner).
  18. Buy window coverings for all rooms in the house.
  19. Donate to charity.
  20. Invest.
  21. Plant a garden.
  22. Take care of myself.
  23. Take at least two family trips per year.
  24. Take at least one trip without Maddie per year (to continually build/sustain our marriage).
  25. Find Joy!

This is so inspiring, Nicole. I have some of these same goals myself, including learning how to swim. Good luck with your list. I'm sure you will be successful because you have God and the support of your friends.

lol, learn to swim is on your list! I laugh because as I kid I LOVED getting in water but I couldn't swim worth diddly. Out of concern for my safety, my mom put me in swimming lessons… I failed. Who fails swimming lessons??? To this day, I still can't swim!

That's hilarious Hollie! You should definitely revisit that and succeed!!! Since I want my daughter to be able to swim I plan to start taking those classes you can take with your toddler where they teach them (and you) how to swim next summer! I'll let you know how that goes!!!

That's SO awesome, Rell! I hope you'll post your list if you decide to make one! Reading other people's lists helps to motivate me and give me ideas as well!

I was preparing for next Sunday's social and one of the questions asks about a bucket list and another questions asks about my reading list. I guess I should be more forward thinking than I am, because I don't have a bucket list..and I certainly don't have time for leisurely reading!! So, I looked to your 30 before 30 to come up with ideas for my list and I see that you want to read 10 new books. Read "To Heaven and Back" by Mary C. Neal. It's a spiritual book that speaks to many situations…plus it's an easy read. I read it in like 3 days. I think you would like it.

Ha, I don't have time for leisurely reading either but I believe it's so important. I'm actually about to start taking the time to read leisurely on Sunday's beginning next month and need to create a list of books in order to complete my 10. I should at least be able to read one or two books per quarter that way. But we'll. see!

I've just looked over your suggestion on my Kindle and have downloading the sample first but will more than add it to my list and purchase it! Thanks for the recommendation!

Hi Nicole! You might as well call us blogging sisters! I am pretty much blown away by how much we have in common. As I read your About page, I felt like I was reading about me. Even looking at this list I see we have similar goals. Not to mention, my birthday is only 9 days away from yours. I do have a few years on you though, lol! I will definitely be visiting your space again lady. I've enjoyed what I've read in these two pages already!
