#AskAysa | Get Answers to Your Skin Condition(s)

Thank you, Aysa, for sponsoring this post.  By simply scanning a picture of the infected area of the skin and answering a few questions, Aysa can help you narrow down the possible condition.  Visit www.askaysa.com to see how it works and to download the app.

Both of my girls have sensitive skin, and when I say sensitive skin, I mean s-e-n-s-i-t-i-v-e skin.  They have the type of skin that kept us from using the type of baby wash that makes babies have that sweet, baby smell that we all love so much.  Instead, we started using an oatmeal based body wash and lotion on each of them soon after birth.  Detergents used for cleaning their clothes has to be hypoallergenic and we’ve been treating eczema for as long as I can remember as well.  With that said, we keep a close eye on their skin and any changes that may occur.
This week, Madison developed several raised, itchy patches of skin in different areas of her body; mainly her arms and legs.  It was unlike any rash we’d seen before and initially, I felt unprepared.  But, then I remembered we could just ask Aysa.  Aysa is a system checker app that can be used to assist in identifying more than 200 skin conditions with the click of a button.
The process is incredibly simple:
  • Take a photo.
  • Answer questions.
  • Set up your profile.
  • Review results.
  • Take action.
Aysa helped to narrow down the possible condition then provided options to help us decide what the next step in care should be.  This app certainly came in handy when our child was itchy and we needed answers sooner rather than later in order to get her some relief right away.  We were able to determine that she had poison ivy and treated her with Benadryl and a topical cream to control the itch.  After visiting the doctor and verifying the poison ivy diagnosis, Madison was prescribed a stronger topical cream, and she is now feeling much better.
I highly recommend downloading the app just to have on hand for any skin condition you or your child may face.  It draws on the experience of more than 47,000 physicians and nurses, and more than 137,000,000 health searches, so you can feel confident in the advice it provides. It’s the perfect on-the-go tool to help you address various skin concerns.  So, head over to the app store to download it now (currently only available on the IOS platform)!

I can see how this tool would come in handy, especially if you have sensitive skin or were traveling. It's nice to have the option to see whether your skin condition is something that requires a doctor's attention or over the counter meds.
