Our Family is Growing!

If you follow me on social media then you already know that we’re expecting our second baby and we couldn’t be more excited; each and every one of us, especially Madison. Just yesterday she told me we needed bottles so that she could feed the baby! Aww, aww, AWWW!

When I tell y’all I’ve had baby fever since like two years ago (and I constantly told the hubs so), I mean it. Check the date on this post.
#Proof
Eventually, I said to Mario “I can’t take it any more. I want a baby. Let’s have a baby.” He agreed and my IUD was removed on Aug 7th. About three weeks afterward I get all down and out stating “this is going to take forEVER!”.  A few weeks later the same thing that happened in this post that let me know I was pregnant the first time happened.  Like then, I knew before I even took the pregnancy test that it would be positive! I found out while I was in Memphis, TN, so I had to hold onto my excitement for a few days because I wanted to tell Mario in person.  I really wish I’d recorded Mario’s sweet reaction when he walked into the bathroom and saw the test. Maybe next time, folks ;)! Ha! Based on our due date of June 12th and my traveling schedule (b/c we only had certain weeks were we could get it on, you know, because I was hardly here), my conception date is on/about Sept 6th! I say all that to say it took only a month to conceive after the removal of the IUD. All women are different but it’s good to know what other women experience in regards to conception after IUDs (I’d had it in for 3.5 years). I, for one, scoured the web after I had mine removed to determine how long it “might” take. So that’s the point of sharing here.

Now, let’s talk about this pregnancy a bit. Shall we? It’s been rough. Rough! This pregnancy is one of those things I plan to bring up to this child when they need a reminder of all the things I’ve done for them. Maddie’s pregnancy wasn’t the easiest either but it was smooth compared to this pregnancy. For one, I didn’t have nausea (or vomiting) with Madison. I wasn’t as tired either. But, to be fair, I have been traveling for work the entire first trimester (one of the hardest). And, I was diagnosed with anemia prior to getting pregnant so it has heightened my fatigue. I’m currently taking iron supplements twice per day to help with the anemia, but the main side effects (I’ll spare you the details but feel free to google) sucks! So, if you’ve been wondering “what’s going on with Pharr Away and the posts from Nicole that I can’t get enough of” (hey, a fan’s words, not mine) then this is my “excuse”. But seriously, I just could not do it all.
As of today, I’m officially in my second trimester. Although, I’m still quite tired it’s easing up just a bit and I should be able to stop traveling very soon. That frees me up to get back to doing some of the things I love, like dedicating some time to get at least one post out per week; especially since there are so many things to fill you in on, plus an abundance of pregnancy thoughts to share throughout the next two trimesters.
I look forward to getting back into the swing of things just a bit here and reconnecting with you all through this platform. I’d love to hear what you all have had going on over the past two months as well since I’ve been slack on keeping up with my favorite blogs too.  But don’t worry, reading blogs is one of my favorite pastimes when nursing in the middle of the night, so if I don’t catch up now I’ll surely catch up soon after the baby is born.
That’s enough for now, folks.  Leave a note in the comments so we can pick up like we never fell off, just like the best of friends!

Until next time,
