Welcoming Summer

The first day of summer began this past weekend, and is usually the beginning of a season of celebration for my family and I. My birthday and Father’s Day occur just before the beginning of summer so we look at this season as a time of celebration.

We began this summer by celebrating my life! This year I celebrated a milestone birthday; age thirty. Believe it or not, I’ve been looking forward to this age. For some reason I feel like this will be one of the best decades of my life. It’s like a coming of age. I finally have a good sense of what I like and don’t like. What I’m willing to put up with, where my priorities lie, where I want to go and a vision and strategic plan to get me there.
My body has also changed. I have to work out to stay fit and I have to watch what I eat to stay healthy. Thankfully, my palate has matured right along with me, and I’m finding that I am somewhat of a connoisseur of wine and champagne. But most importantly, I’m learning that life is fleeting and that more than anything I just want to spend time celebrating with those I love.
This past weekend, I spent time with my girls, my husband spent time with his boys, and the two of us (and Maddie) enjoyed time together to celebrate Father’s Day with breakfast and a movie. Of course, a bit of bubbly was in order throughout the weekend.

“Gloria Ferrer wines have earned over 400 gold medals and 50 90+ scores in the last 5 years.”

A wine I recommend for celebrating any occasion is Gloria Ferrer’s VA de VI, a stylish méthode champenoise sparkling wine. It has just the right amount of dryness and pairs well with fruit-based desserts, which is all I wanted this weekend. My husband and his friends devoured this bottle of champenoise! Another good choice is the Blanc de Noirs which is predominantly made from hand-harvested Pinot Noir grapes and is naturally gluten free.

“Convivial, social, elegant, fun — the sparkling wines of Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards are a perfect match for any occasion and are arguably the most social beverage. Exuberant and fruit-forward, our wines are outstanding with today’s diverse and flavorful cuisine. We like to say they are the bottled expressions of the vines, hillsides, fog, wind, and sky of Carneros.”

No matter the pick of Gloria Ferrer’s wine, summer is a time to get together with family and friends and have a good time, in my opinion.  We’ve got several days of celebration lined up with a group of friends for this upcoming fourth of July weekend, followed by a trip up north later in that month for another birthday and graduation celebration that I am way too excited about!
I’ve said all this to say, if your summer is any thing like ours, packed full of fun and celebration, then I hope you’ll give the Gloria Ferrer world-class méthode champenoise sparkling wines a try.  Raise a toast during birthdays, weddings, graduations and more, and embrace all the fun that summer has to offer.  It’s truly a season of celebration, and I look forward to making many, happy memories with my family and friends over the next few weeks!
