Working Out {Monthly Measures #8}

I’m totally gym obsessed, folks, and I can hardly believe it myself. In December of last year I started working out slowly, once per week. In January I joined Planet Fitness and I currently go to the gym about three times per week (dictated by my family needs/responsibilities, of course).

I also conquered my 21 Day Fast and plan to do Dr. Oz’s three day detox some time towards the end of the month.  This girl is on fire!!!
Saturday was the last day of my fast (no tv, sweets or meats), so I’m going out tonight to get a juicy burger and fries from Five Guys and some fattening ice cream from Cold Stones with no care in the world.  Do you feel me :)?!?  Besides, I plan to have a cheat day at least once per week.
This is a lifestyle change, my friends, but it’s got to be realistic if there is any hope of doing it for a lifetime.  So although I’m eating clean, taking in more fruits and veggies, beans and lean meats, I know that I could not survive without satisfying my sweet tooth here and there.  It’s all about being conscious of my choices now and being in control of my cravings versus having my cravings control me.
I’m feeling much better already, full of energy and life, and I can’t wait to see what I look like in the coming months.
Stay tuned, because this body is sure to impress :)!

    Congrats Nicole. You're looking awesome! I'm so excited that the new place we're moving to in Cary actually has a 24 hr gym. I was training for a half marathon and then messed up my knee so I've been taking it easy, but I feel like March will be my time to lace up my shoes and hit the trails again. And I'm so stoked that I'll finally have easy access to weights this time around. I think training will be easier on my body, plus my juicer has been a Godsend.

    Here's to hoping 2014 is a good one for both of us!

    I'm working on making changes to the way I eat. Right now, I'm watching what I eat normally and using a phone app to add up calories, proteins, fats, & cholesterol. Then since I'm trying to get rid of my tummy, Chris is going to help my adjust my percentages as needed! Next on the list to try AGAIN to find a gym in the area. I miss my old gym 🙁 I know all of this is going to take some work and it is definitely a lifestyle change…but being healthy is vital for vitality!! 🙂
