Raspberries and Blueberries and Bananas, oh my…

I have a hard time getting Maddie to eat fruits and vegetables so I try to come up with clever ways to get her what she needs.

I ended up making this yummy little concoction for her the other day…

About six raspberries, a handful of blueberries and one banana mixed together with milk in her Baby Bullet* blender…no sugar necessary, especially with the ripe banana!

I then poured my sweet little concoction into two Little Green Pouches, which I won in a giveaway (yay for giveaways)! I was buying the pre-filled pouches and usually about half of the contents would go to waste so I’m excited about saving money by using these pouches instead!

I refrigerated one for later and gave the other to Maddie to taste test…

The girl decided that it was a winner and tried to suck out every ounce of it!

Boom! One for Mommy!

How do you get your little one to eat their fruits and veggies?!? Seriously, I need to know!!!

We are working on this right now! We told each of the boys to pick out some fruit (anything they wanted) and we would make them smoothies. So far so good! Now I need to find some recipes that sneak some spinach in there or something 😉

Same here, Krista, so far so good! And you're exactly right, I need to look up some recipes to get the veggies in too!

^Agree with Krista, smoothies are always a clever way to sneak in veges. Until recently my little one never ate vegetables, but now I try to incorporate as much as possible. I've tried a mashed cauliflower recipe, I mix spinach in smoothies, I give her yogurt and honey mustard as dips and just incorporate a little at a time. I'm gonna check out your review of the "Bullet". I made all my oldest baby foods but no longer have my food processor so I've been looking for an alternative so I can start my little one on some solids.

Erica, do you mix the spinach into the fruit smoothies somehow without it being too noticeable or overbearing or am I reading it wrong?!? I like the idea of using yogurt as a dip too!

The raw spinach leaves have very little taste. I started out with a few leaves to fruit ratio then gradually increased to half and half. The darker the fruits also disguises the color. I'm sure using the pouches you mentioned it would be completely unseen.
