Overwhelming Sadness…

As I heard the news today, about Sandy Hook Elementary School, I told myself not to let it affect me emotionally in front of my daughter…but I could not contain my sadness.

I picked up my 9 month old daughter, repeatedly told her that I loved her and I cried.

I cried for all of those parents who received that horrifying text / notification that a shooting had occurred. Then I cried even harder for those who arrived to find that their innocent child was a victim of this senseless act of violence.

All I can do is pray…pray for ALL of the lives that were lost today and pray that their families will find the strength to make it through!

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14, NIV)

If you are willing and able, donations are being accepted by Newtown Youth and Family Services to aid the families directly affected by today’s unimaginable events.

Beautifully written post, Nicole. I, too, cried tears today that I just could not hold back.
Right now, we are all one.

I'm right there with you. And you are so right…this nation needs to turn away from the evil of this world and focus on the ONLY One that can change it…Christ.

I'm your newest follower…and a fellow NC native!! I look forward to getting to know you!
