Hello, I'm Nicole Pharr, an engineer by degree but a creative at heart! I am the author of this family, lifestyle blog and it's called Pharr Away because by marrying and gaining that new last name, my husband did just that -- he took me "far away" from the life I knew to a life full of love and happiness.
This blog is meant to share our journey; more specifically, my journey and focuses on marriage, parenting, homemade cooking, health, loss, and so much more. My mission is to inspire, encourage and inform in small ways that have a big impact by sharing my story and experiences, useful tools and products, and what I've learned during the process.
I am committed to helping others love, grow, change and live fully!
I'm an introvert and my husband is an extrovert.
I went skydiving when I turned 25, the proof is here.
Reading and blogging are my favorite pastimes.
I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
I met my best friend in freshman English at our alma mater, NCSU.
My best friend eventually became my amazing husband in June 2012!
Our beautiful little girl, Madison, was born in February 2012. You can read more about her under the label Maddie Musings and/or read Our Birth Story! We recently had another cute little girl, Morgan, who was born in June 2016. You can read about her birth story here.
With our first born, I was a proud stay at home mom for 18 months, but worked as an engineer a little over four (4) years before that! Since then I've been back in corporate America and I'm currently trying to figure out how to manage life as a working mom of two. It's quite an adventure!
Ads & Sponsorship
Thank you for following me on this journey! I partner with brands that I've either used for years or those that I've come to love and trust. Please know that if I am posting a brand or company here it is because my family and I are actual consumers/users of the products and services, and we value what is offered. It helps to support my efforts in this creative space and I won't feature a brand or company that I don't believe in. Thank you so much for your support, and for allowing me to share and be creative in this space.
