25 Days | Christmas Bible Verses

Since 2014 we've been doing Elf on the Shelf.  Last year I created a list of daily positions for our elf, Whon** (pronounced "One") because we struggled with finding places to put him each night.  Having a list all set and ready to go made things so much easier going forward.

Now, I also want to ensure that we start tying Jesus into what we are doing during the Christmas season even more as Madison gets older.  She's six and reads well for her age, so I've started leaving little notes for her to read from the elf about his adventures with wrapping presents and keeping up with whether or not she's on the nice list or not.

This year, I've also started leaving verses from the Bible about the Christmas story with the elf for her to read as well.  I've created a PDF of the verses I'm using below.  I love how we are starting to have more conversations about Jesus and morals, and what it means to be a good person and treat people well.  It's been so much fun to talk to her about these things; to teach her, to learn from her, and to train her up.

I'd love to hear about how you're teaching your child(ren) that Jesus is the reason for the season!

**Funny Story:  We're working to rename our elf this year, but still haven't come up with a new name.  Madison was only two when she named him and insisted on naming him "one" at the time, I spelled it differently for fun.  Next year, I also want to get them a Black, girl elf.  I didn't know there were different options at the time.  Oh, what a learning experience this has been!
