5 Year Blogivesary

As of today, my blogiversary [blog-uh-vur-suh-ree], I’ve been blogging for five years.  For fives years I’ve told bits and pieces of my story; being transparent in ways that I didn’t expect.  Blogging started off as a creative outlet that turned into a therapeutic space that transitioned into an income stream, and I couldn’t be more happy with how far it’s come.  I’ve learned so much about myself and others through this journey, and have connected with so many inspiring people along the way.

So much has changed since my first post about Buying a New Home.  I’ve discussed my experiences with grief and moving forward after the loss of my mother through posts like Losing a Parent and Be Encouraged, Motherless Mothers.  I’ve shared the amazing, exciting parts of marriage with posts like To My Love… but also shared the hard things that are faced through posts like Love is Hard.  Yet, I’ll always encourage couples to stay the course with posts like Be Not Weary | 7 Ways to Always Fight for Your Marriage.  I’ve also obsessed over my kids and shared my thoughts on Attachment Parenting, How to Raise an Adult and why I think breastfeeding is so incredibly important here and here.  Lastly, I’ve heavily discussed self-care through posts like You Can’t Do It All and What About Me, as well as my reliance on my faith in Simple Prayers | How to Pray Without Ceasing and How to Study the Bible.

I’ve even had the chance to be featured in mainstream publications like For Harriet in their post, 10 Awesome Black Mommy Bloggers to Follow, and in Essence in their post 18 Most Beautiful Black Mommy Bloggers Who Make it Work and Give Us Life.

Somehow, I’ve managed to keep this space going for five long years, and for that, I am so very proud!!  I love that I’ve been able to capture our lives in this way and I so love going back through my archives to see how my family and I have grown and changed over the course of these years.

My hope is that I will continue to be drawn to this space; to document our lives, to share resources, to engage with this community, and to continue my mission.

Thank you for hanging in there with me; reading, commenting, sharing and just being supportive all around — it means more than you’ll ever know!
