Handmade Jewelry - Authentically Made


I just might be the most selective jewelry buyer there ever was. With the exception of wedding bands and earrings, I usually only wear jewelry on dates, special occasions and church; yet, I'm particular about what I add to my collection.  I tend to wear the same pieces over and over again, so I look for pieces that can be worn with multiple outfits, and ones that are classic, timeless, and long-lasting.  

When I think of authentic, I think of trust and reliability.  When I think of handmade I think of care and superior quality.  That's just what I'm looking for when I'm shopping for jewelry. Latonya, the creator behind Alexandria's Authentically Made Jewelry, couldn't have chosen a better name to draw me into her handmade jewelry.  

I found her shop via Instagram, of course, and immediately fell in love with one of her pieces stamped with “Whatever 4:8” on the tag. Right away I knew it was in reference to Philippians 4:8, and it made me love it all the more.

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." -Philippians 4:8 (NIV)

Although Latonya's shop has ready-made jewelry, the hand stamped tag can be customized to your liking.  But don't fret, fully customized orders are available as well.  I would know!  When I spoke to Latonya about building a custom piece just for me, she was more than happy to oblige all of my requests.  From the color of the stones, to the type of tag used, she worked with me diligently to create the beautiful bracelet in the photo above.

My bracelet arrived neatly packaged with the sweetest of notes. 
I wore it to church soon after it arrived!

I couldn't help but get "Whatever 4:8" stamped on my tag simply because I love what it stands for.  I often throw that word around whenever I want or need to let things just roll off my back.  It's so fitting how the verse seemingly suggests the same; to just focus on the good!
