Monthly Measures {#5}

Let's discuss the 30 Day Squat Challenge I'm doing for my Mayathon, shall we! It's day 6 and I haven't done my squat's for the day yet so this is based on days 1-5!

Honestly it's no big deal thus far (<--insert fist-pump here)! Doing 100+ squats per day doesn't start until Day 9 so I suppose that's when I'll finally start to feel it. I will say that by the time I've completed them all for the day (I'm currently doing them all at once) my quads and glutes are on fire!  No soreness the next day thus far, but it's still early.

I definitely plan to start breaking it up into sets once I hit Day 9.  I also wanted to mention that having good form is critical if we want to get the most out of this challenge.

So take a look at this quick video if you're unsure...

Also, I recognize that I can't expect an overall body change by doing this challenge alone so I'm working out a few times a week on top of this and I hope those that have joined me are too!  I encourage you to at least add in some sort of cardio routine in the mix here and there and do your very best to make healthier food choices.  I'm currently eating healthy at least six days per week...hey, no one is perfect!

I'd love to know who else is still going strong after 5 days and if you've done your 75 squats for today!  Did I mention that the total number of squats that I will have completed by the end of this is 3295!

Oh, I have!!!

Well, it's 3295! It's a bit much if you ask me but we must carry on!  Who's with me (<---screaming)?!?

 BE FIT & BE HEALTHY!!!

 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. I Corinthians 6:19-20, KJV

  1. This is awesome!! I'm right there with you. So far, a piece of cake with minimal muscle burn while and little after doing the set. I was just thinking today that I would have to break them up into sets soon because I get winded doing less than 100 so I'd probably pass out if I continue to do one set as the numbers get higher!! Who gets winded from doing squats?? You're stationary the whole time!! It hasn't been that long since I've stopped going to the gym...anyway...lol. Thanks for the video. I've seen one before but forgot all about making sure the knees don't go over the toes!! Plus, I like the butt squeeze at the bottom of the count! You know I have a lot of events coming up where I won't be at home...and it's harder for me to stick to routines when I'm out of my element, so we'll see how I do as the month goes on!!

    1. That's my plan starting tomorrow, Ash! Doing 75 at once was tough so I think it's time!

    1. Yes, Gwen, I so needed it and had to go back to it after a couple of days because I just felt like I was doing them wrong and thought others might feel the same!

  5. Thank you for the video because I have been doing it wrong! :O I went all the way to the floor instead of stopping halfway haha. Leave it to me to do something incorrectly xD.

  6. Haha... {<---insert fist pump here!} That's epic! Still laughing!
    Great job girl. I would fall over if I was part of this challenge. As it is I already take 10 classes a week at the gym.
    I think I'd lose my legs.
    But I am SO rooting you all on!!

    1. Wow, Lanaya, 10 classes/week! Now that's dedication. I know I need to do much more but this is a start! Please do root away for me because I'm finding that living a healthy lifestyle isn't as easy as others make it look!
