Monthly Measures {#3}

Remember this line from last month’s monthly measures….”I joined a gym (Life Time Fitness) last month!”

Well, that membership has come to an end. I wasn’t going consistently enough for it to be worth it.  We are in the process of trying to become debt free and we have a goal in mind to reach that point so a gym membership doesn’t really fit into the equation.  But I truly can’t use that excuse. I have been very slack in regards to working out for the entire month of February.  I must admit, I let myself get a bit overwhelmed in anticipation for Maddie’s birthday and I actually let a lot of things fall by the wayside…and that’s ok! Let’s just call it prioritizing!!!

But I do need to get back on track.  Not just with exercising, but with several other things as well…

Taking care of myself
Getting out more with Maddie
Having more alone time with the hubby
Eating better
Blogging consistently / Responding to comments and emails

Basically everything on my list of aspirations for this year! So yeah, I made it through January like a champ and fizzled out by the end of February. Typical, right?!? Well, I plan to do my best to get back on track by the end of this month.  Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated!!!

By the way, I’m currently reading It Starts with Food by Dallas and Melissa Hartwig and may (keyword: may) try out their Whole30 challenge once I”m done…but we’ll see!

Special thanks to the hubby for not rubbing my slack in my face or saying I told you so in regards to the gym membership! So thankful that he feels that I should just keep trying different things until I find something that works.  To him, all that matters is that I keep trying…that kind of support means a lot!

Monthly Weigh-In: 153.0 lbs (same as last month, surprisingly)!

I know all too well about fizzling out on my well-intentioned aspirations. I had a hard time figuring out what to write this month and almost bailed on it, but reading your post got me to hit "publish." Thanks for this link up, Nicole!

I'm so glad to see that my post did that for you, Gwen! The second person to link up, Natasha (http://lovelyyouboutique.wordpress.com/), did that for me! I woke up to her post in my inbox and thought, she wrote her post with the intention to link-up so I just had to write about something (even my failures this past month) for those who had plans to link up and writing helped me to realize where I'm at so that I could make a change! So glad you linked up and I definitely enjoyed your inspiring post today!!!

Well, at least you didn't gain anything. I have been very good with going to the gym – very good. On the contrary, I have not been so good with my eating. If I could get that under control, I would loose weight so much faster.

I will skip the excuses because there is always something that you keep you from doing what you know you need to do.

The way I think about it. If I can find one good reason to do something – then I do it. With the gym – it's because I'm worth it.

Lisa, I'm struggling with both not exercising AND poor eating habits (which will actually be the topic of tomorrow's post).

You're SO right about excuses so I'm doing my best not to make / have any and just keep trying to do something, anything, regularly! You hit the nail on the head when you said you're worth it and I need to start thinking about it in that way as well!

      Thanks for the encouragement!!!

That's smart to end the gym membership early if you know you won't make it in. I'm giving myself this week to make the decision the only reason I'm holding on to it so tightly although I haven't made it in yet is the fact that I have a low rate monthly that I won't get if I decide to join again at a later date. And I love it once I get in there so I'll see but absolutely incorporating my walking in either way.

I don't know what the temps are like where you are but maybe putting Maddie in her stroller and walking your neighborhood may help? That start may be the push to more. And I'm reminding myself of this fact as I type!:)

That's the thing I don't like the most about letting the membership go is that I actually really enjoyed it on the days that I actually made it in. But the problem was making it in! It's all about prioritizing, I guess, which is something that I need to get better at doing.

I actually have a jogging stroller and was taking Maddie out with me for walks / runs but then it got too cold for her. But Spring is right around the corner so I'll be taking her out, along with doing home videos, soon!

      Thanks for linking up dear!!!
