Maddie “Thoughts” – Reading…

I grew up with a love for reading that I still possess to this very day and I credit this love to my mom! It wasn’t so much that she read to me as a child, but the fact that whenever she had free time for herself she would always have her face stuck in a book. She read ALL the time, to the point where I would want to just sit down beside her and read too…and that’s just what I did!
Reading is so much fun to me because of this and I believe it’s so very important to instill a love for it at a young age.  For those reasons I began to read to Maddie every day, from day one, and gave her her own shelf full of books to pull from (and somehow this smart cookie knows which shelf is hers :))!
I can tell she enjoys when we read together, and quite often I’ll find her off somewhere “reading” by herself!
Here I come, are you ready?!?

 Mom, what is this?!?

What’s Doc McStuffin’ talking about?  Oh, I’ve already seen this episode…
Man, I love whoever bought me this thing (thanks aunt Tasha)!
Man, I love books too…
Let me see what I can read today.

Hummm, so much to choose from!

Ah, there it is!  My favorite!…

Let me squat and get comfortable!

Me: Madison? What are you doing over there? You don’t want to sit down?

I’m good! Just over here reading!

I don’t know how toddlers are able to stay in that squat position, comfortably, for as long as they do!!!

Catherine and I are the same way. I have been reading to Catherine everyday since she was 2 months old. She enjoys this time together and I often find her "reading" on her own as well.

    She's such a cutie!
My son loves to read too. We actually just checked out 5 new Easter Books at the library. We are going to read them next week 🙂

It is so sweet that you're passing down reading to your baby girl! She is so smart to know which shelf is hers…i love it!

YES, it is SO FUNNY how they can stay in that position! Babies/toddlers move so much more efficiently than us adults, as crazy as that sounds… they actually squat more correctly than we typically do!
